(VIRGINIA BEACH, VA) "It is with distinct pleasure that the GenExchange announces the resignation of Joanne Abby, long time National Coordinator of the USGenExchange. Joanne is being replaced by Keith Schaar who has acted as Assistant USGenExchange National Coordinator since February 2000 and has previously been State Coordinator for the OHGenExchange, MAGenExchange and PAGenExchanges.
Keith has taken an active role in the growth of the GenExchange, the third largest non-profit genealogy project on the Internet, working tirelessly to transcribe records for the online genealogical community, as well as promoting online genealogy through education and outreach, and has exemplified the mission of the GenExchange -- ensuring permanent free access to genealogical materials online. In addition to being named as National Coordinator for the USGenExchange, Keith will continue on President of the Tuscarawas County (Ohio) Genealogical Society and can be reach at
keith@genexchange.org
Joanne will continue on with the GenExchange as co-webmaster with her husband Anthony Abby, and as National Coordinator for the upcoming World GenExchange Project web sites, due to begin opening in the near future.
