Notes with source citations are necessary DearREADERS, We judge a scholarly publication in any other genre (history, science, medicine, etc.) by it's source citations and subsequent critical reviews by peers. In the scholarly world of history, science and medicine, researchers don't blindly accept the published work of others. They review the work of their peers. They use the scientific method to attempt to prove a hypothesis. Researchers who fudge their findings have grant money withdrawn and no longer enjoy the respect of their peers. Are we to think of our compiled genealogies as anything less than scholarly? Happy family tree climbing! |
