I just completed a weekend were Myrtle spoke in St. George, Utah. One of her topics centered around ole time medicines. Question: Could you direct me a source for an old time herbal book called "Dr. Gun's Doctor Book" ? My great-grandmother used this like a midwife. I have searched Abe books.com and Amazon with no hits. Thank you so much.

I used Google & searched for "Dr. Gunn + remedies" and found several references to current Rodale.com publications. However, the exact title of the old-timey book is:

GUNNS' NEW DOMESTIC PHYSICIAN OR HOME BOOK OF HEALTH, by John C. Gunn. It was published in Cincinnati by Moore, Wilstach & Baldwin in 1864.

A subsequent search of Amazon.com for that title turned up 3 used copies of the book, starting at $50. Good luck!
