DearMYRTLE,
SURNAMES: VON BOTHMER & STEYNMETS
Late 18th Century Delft Chargers
The attachment is of two Delft porclain chargers made circa 1786 in
Delft, Holland. They have been in the Von Bothmer/Stymiest family for
over 200 years. A Johann Caspar Von Bothmer married a Steynmets (of
which I am a direct descendant). Over the years the chargers belonged to
the Von Bothmer families. In the 1990s a Von Bothmer died in Portland,
Oregon leaving the porcelain pieces to a relative( a niece, I believe)
in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. After the death of this person,
the estate was put up for auction in 1999. I was fortunate to be able to
purchase the fine exquisite pieces. Truly a prized possession.
Thanks,
Carl Stymiest
